Adam Barrone, whose great-great-great-grandparents are buried in the Brown Family Cemetery off Whittern Road, walks among the gravestones after a brief ceremony erecting a plaque marking the spot where the historic cemetery was established in 1849. The cemetery’s new historical status will allow the Brown family’s descendants to fix up and maintain the long-neglected plot.
