JACOB NUSSBAUM
JACOB NUSSBAUM, RESIDING IN PLEASANT RIDGE TOWNSHIP, EIGHT AND A HALF MILES NORTHEAST OF FAIRBURY, PASSED AWAY LAST FRIDAY MORNING AT 9:30 O'CLOCK AT THE FAIRBURY HOSPITAL. MR. NUSSBAUM, WHO HAD BEEN ILL WITH HERNIA, WAS AGED 85 YEARS, 7 MONTHS AND 12 DAYS.
JACOB, SON OF ANNA AND NICHOLAS NUSSBAUM, WAS BORN AT BEATZVILLE, CANTON SLOTHURN, SWITZERLAND, MARCH 29 1847. WHEN A BOY OF NINE YEARS HE CAME WITH OTHER MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY TO AMERICA, LOCATING NEAR PALMYRA MO. FROM THERE HE MOVED TO PEORIA, THEN TO METAMORA AND FINALLY LOCATING NEAR FAIRBURY.
ON FEBRUARY 20 1881, IN WOODFORD COUNTY, HE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO MARY HARTMAN. FOR THREE YEARS FOLLOWING THEIR MARRIAGE THEY RESIDED SOUTHEAST OF FAIRBURY, AND THEN REMOVED TO PLEASANT RIDGE TOWNSHIP.
OF THE IMMEDIATE FAMILY THE BEREAVED WIFE AND THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN SURVIVE: EDWARD, OF WOLCOTT IND.; MRS. FRED RIEGER AND IRA NUSSBAUM, OF FORREST, AND SILAS AND MARY AT HOME. THERE ALSO SURVIVE TWO BROTHERS, JOHN, OF FAIRBURY, AND NICHOLAS, OF REMINGTON IND., AND TWENTY GRANDCHILDREN. ONE DAUGHTER, MRS. BEN STOLLER, PASSED AWAY AUGUST 4TH 1931.
MR. NUSSBAUM WAS A GOOD NEIGHBOR AND FRIEND, AND IN THE HOME WAS A KIND AND LOVING FATHER. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH.
THE FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON AT THE NORTHSIDE CHURCH AND INTERMENT WAS IN NORTHSIDE CEMETERY.
AGED PLEASANT RIDGE WOMAN PASSES AWAY
MRS. MARY HARTMAN NUSSBAUM, AN AGED AND HIGHLY ESTEEMED RESIDENT OF PLEASANT RIDGE TOWNSHIP, PASSED AWAY SUDDENLY AY HER HOME THERE WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT 10 O’CLOCK. MRS. NUSSBAUM, WHO FOR 54 YEARS HAD RESIDED ON THE FARM WHERE SHE PASSED AWAY HAD BEEN IN FAIRBURY THE AFTERNOON BEFORE HER DEATH. SHE WAS AGED 90 YEARS AND 3 MONTHS.
MRS. NUSSBAUM WAS BORN IN ST. LOUIS, MO., A DAUGHTER OF MR. AND MRS. FREDERICK HARTMAN, WHO HAD COME TO AMERICA FROM THE OLD COUNTRY IN 1848. WHEN SIX YEARS OF AGE SHE MOVED WITH HER PARENTS FROM ST. LOUIS TO PEORIA AND LATER TO EUREKA.
ON FEBRUARY 20, 1881, IN WOODFORD COUNTY, SHE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO JACOB NUSSBAUM. THEY BEGAN HOUSEKEEPING ON THE POTTER FARM THREE MILES SOUTHEAST OF FAIRBURY. FIFTY-FOUR YEARS AGO THEY MOVED TO THE FARM IN PLEASANT RIDGE TOWNSHIP, WHERE MRS. NUSSBAUM PASSED AWAY WEDNESDAY NIGHT. MR. NUSSBAUM PASSED AWAY SIX YEARS AGO.
SURVIVING ARE THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN: MRS. FRED RIEGER AND IRA NUSSBAUM, OF FORREST, AND SILAS AND MARY, AT HOME. SURVIVING ALSO ARE A BROTHER EDWARD HARTMAN, OF FAIRBURY, AND A SISTER, MRS. LYDIA MANGOLD, OF ROANOKE. A DAUGHTER, MRS. BEN STOLLER, PASSED AWAY AUGUST 4, 1931.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD THIS AFTERNOON AT 1:30 O’CLOCK AT THE NORTH APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

EDWARD NUSSBAUM, HURT YEAR AGO, DIES
SILAS AND MARY NUSSBAUM WERE CALLED TO WOLCOTT, INDIANA, LAST SUNDAY BY THE DEATH IF THEIR BROTHER, EDWARD NUSSBAUM, A FORMER RESIDENT OF THIS COMMUNITY. MR. NUSSBAUM WAS BADLY INJURED IN A CORN PICKER LAST NOVEMBER AND HAD BEEN CONFINED TO HIS BED EVER SINCE.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD AT THE NORTH APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH HERE AND INTERMENT AT THE APOSTOLIC CEMETERY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. THE MINISTER OFFICIATING WAS THE REV. HARVEY VERCLER FROM NEW YORK. IT WAS A VERY LARGE FUNERAL MANY COMING FROM INDIANA.
HE WAS BORN DECEMBER 28, 1882, THE SON OF JACOB AND MARY HARTMAN NUSSBAUM. HE ENGAGED IN FARMING HERE UNTIL 1915 WHEN HE REMOVED TO WOLCOTT, IND. HE MARRIED MISS IDA FURRER THERE IN 1925. HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE AND TWO DAUGHTERS, PAULINE AND WILMA; ALSO TWO SISTERS, MISS MARY NUSSBAUM AND MRS. FRED RIEGER ,AND TWO BROTHERS, SILAS AND IRA NUSSBAUM, OF THIS VICINITY.
THE SYMPATHY OF THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY IS EXTENDED TO MRS. NUSSBAUM AND THE TWO DAUGHTERS, WILMA AND PAULINE, IN THEIR LOSS.
2. LYDIA (NUSSBAUM) STOLLER 1884 - 1931

LYDIA CORA NUSSBAUM, DAUGHTER OF JACOB AND MARY NUSSBAUM, WAS BORN JUNE 8, 1884, IN PLEASANT RIDGE TOWNSHIP, AND DIED AT THE FAIRBURY HOSPITAL, AUGUST 4, 1931, AT THE AGE OF 47 YEARS, 1 MONTH AND 28 DAYS, AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS’ ILLNESS OF COMPLICATIONS.
SHE WAS MARRIED JANUARY 28, 1909, TO BENJAMIN STOLLER. TO THIS UNION EIGHT CHILDREN WERE BORN, ONE HAVING PRECEDED THE MOTHER IN DEATH. THE SURVIVING CHILDREN ARE: ORIE, MARY, EDWARD, MARTHA, GILLIGAN, LOLA AND ELMER, ALL AT HOME.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD THURSDAY AFTERNOON AT ONE O’CLOCK AT NORTH CHRISTIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH, WITH BURIAL IN THE CEMETERY AT THE CHURCH.
3. ELNORE (NUSSBAUM) RIEGER 1886 - 1967

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. ELNORE A. RIEGER, 81, WERE HELD TUESDAY, NOV. 7, 1967 AT
1 P. M. AT THE FORREST APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH. MRS. RIEGER DIED SUNDAY AT THE FAIRBURY HOSPITAL WHERE SHE WAS A PATIENT SIX MONTHS.
THE CULKIN FUNERAL HOME WAS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS WHERE VISITATION WAS HELD FROM 2 P. M. MONDAY UNTIL SHE WAS TAKEN TO THE CHURCH AT NOON TUESDAY. BURIAL WAS IN NORTH APOSTOLIC CEMETERY.
SHE WAS BORN MAY 24, 1886, IN PLEASANT RIDGE TOWNSHIP, A DAUGHTER OF JACOB AND MARY HARTMAN NUSSBAUM. SHE WAS MARRIED TO FRED RIEGER JAN. 4, 1922, IN PEORIA.
SURVIVING ARE HER HUSBAND; FIVE SONS, MARION, FRED JR., DONALD, PHILLIP AND HERMAN, ALL OF FORREST; FOUR DAUGHTERS MISS ELDA MAE, MRS. LEAH HONEGGER AND MRS. ALDINE NUSSBAUM, ALL OF FORREST; AND MRS. CLARA HONEGGER, STRAWN; A BROTHER, SILAS NUSSBAUM, AND A SISTER, MISS MARY NUSSBAUM, BOTH OF FAIRBURY; 27 GRANDCHILDREN AND 23 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.
SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY A SISTER AND TWO BROTHERS.
4. IRA NUSSBAUM 1888 - 1957

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR IRA NUSSBAUM, 69, WILL BE HELD AT 1 P. M. TODAY AT THE COOK FUNERAL HOME AND AT 1:30 P. M. AT THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH. BURIAL WILL BE IN GRACELAND CEMETERY.
MR. NUSSBAUM DIED AT 5:15 P. M. TUESDAY AT FAIRBURY HOSPITAL FOLLOWING AN ILLNESS OF SEVERAL YEARS. HE HAD BEEN HOSPITALIZED FOUR WEEKS.
HE WAS BORN APRIL 25, 1888, AT PLEASANT RIDGE TOWNSHIP, A SON OF JACOB AND MARY HARTMAN NUSSBAUM. HE ATTENDED RURAL SCHOOLS AND MARRIED LEONA ABERSOLL AT WOLCOTT, IND., FEB. 5, 1920. THEY CAME TO FAIRBURY FROM A FARM IN LIVINGSTON COUNTY IN 1949.
SURVIVING ARE HIS WIFE; FOUR DAUGHTERS, LEONA, JANICE AND CAROL, AT HOME; MRS. DORIS HUBER, FORT LAUDERDALE, FLA.; FIVE SONS WAYNE, AT HOME; ALDEN, DEAN AND BYRON, FAIRBURY; WILLIS, FORREST; TWO SISTERS, MISS MARY AND MRS. NORA RIEGER, FORREST; ONE BROTHER, SILAS, OF FORREST; 15 GRANDCHILDREN. A BROTHER AND A SON PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH.
HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH AND WAS A VETERAN OD WORLD WAR I.
5. SILAS NUSSBAUM 1889 - 1974

SILAS S. NUSSBAUM, 84, DIED AT 1:40 P. M. MONDAY, MAY 27, 1974, AT HELEN LEWIS SMITH PAVILION AT FAIRBURY. HE HAD BEEN A RESIDENT THREE YEARS. HE HAD RESIDED AT FAIRVIEW HAVEN FOR SIX YEARS PRIOR TO GOING TO HELEN LEWIS SMITH PAVILION.
HIS FUNERAL WAS HELD AT 10 A. M. WEDNESDAY, MAY 29, AT THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH, FORREST, WITH BURIAL IN NORTH APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CEMETERY.
HE WAS TAKEN TO THE CHURCH AT 9 A. M. WEDNESDAY.
CULKIN FUNERAL HOME, FORREST, WAS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
HE WAS BORN OCT. 2, 1889, IN PLEASANT RIDGE TOWNSHIP, A SON OF JACOB AND MARY HARTMAN NUSSBAUM. HE NEVER MARRIED.
HIS ONLY SURVIVORS ARE 20 NIECES AND NEPHEWS.
TWO BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH.
HE WAS A FARMER HIS ENTIRE LIFE AND A MEMBER OF THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

MISS MARY B. NUSSBAUM, 80, FAIRBURY, FORMERLY OF FORREST, DIED AT 1:40 P. M. FRIDAY, JAN. 21, 1972, IN FAIRBURY HOSPITAL. SHE HAD BEEN A PATIENT 17 DAYS AND IN FAILING HEALTH TWO YEARS. SHE HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF FAIRVIEW HAVEN NURSING HOME SINCE 1965.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD AT 1 P. M. SUNDAY, JAN. 23, AT THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH. MINISTERS OF THE CHURCH OFFICIATED. SHE WAS TAKEN TO THE CHURCH AT 12:30
P. M. BURIAL WAS IN THE NORTH APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CEMETERY. STIVER HOME FOR FUNERALS WAS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
MISS NUSSABUM WAS BORN SEPTEMBER 25, 1892, IN PLEASANT RIDGE TOWNSHIP, A DAUGHTER OF JACOB AND MARY HARTMAN NUSSBAUM. SHE ATTENDED RURAL SCHOOLS.
SURVIVING ARE A BROTHER, SILAS, A RESIDENT OF HELEN LEWIS SMITH PAVILION, FAIRBURY; SEVERAL NIECES AND NEPHEWS.
SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, TWO BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS.
SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH.
