THE KAISNER FAMILY

JOHN KAISNER SR.

JOHN KAISNER SR., WELL KNOWN RETIRED FARMER, DIED AT HIS HOME, 206 E. ELM STREET, SUNDAY MORNING AT 8:15 O'CLOCK. MR. KAISNER HAD BEEN ILL FOR THE PAST FOUR MONTHS WITH A COMPLICATION OF DISEASES. HE HAD BEEN A RESIDENT OF THIS LOCALITY FOR THE PAST 37 YEARS.

MR. KAISNER WAS BORN IN AUSTRIA-HUNGARY, SEPTEMBER 15 1857, AND GREW TO MANHOOD IN HIS NATIVE COUNTRY. HE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE THERE MAY 4 1879, TO MISS KATHERINE SNYDER, AND WITH THEIR FAMILY, THEN FIVE SONS , THEY CAME TO THE UNITED STATES IN 1893. THEY SETTLED ON A FARM SOUTH OF FAIRBURY AND LIVED THERE UNTIL 1926, WHEN MR. KAISNER RETIRED FROM ACTIVE WORK AND MOVED TO HIS HOME IN FAIRBURY.

THE CHILDREN ARE JACOB, JOHN, ADAM, DAVID, JOSEPH, FRANCIS AND SAMUEL, SONS, AND ONE DAUGHTER, MRS. JOHN TYLER, NORTH OF FORREST. THESE TOGETHER WITH THE BEREAVED WIFE, ONE SISTER LIVING IN THE OLD COUNTRY, AND ONE SISTER, MRS. BARBARA KALAMAN, LIVING IN OHIO, SURVIVE HIM. ALL OF THE CHILDREN LIVE IN THIS LOCALITY. THERE ARE 21 GRANDCHILDREN SURVIVING. ONE SON, WILLIAM, DIED 11 YEARS AGO.

MR. KAISNER WAS A MEMBER OF THE CHRISTIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH OF THIS CITY, AND THE FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD THERE WEDNESDAY. A LARGE CONCOURSE OF RELATIVES AND FRIENDS ATTENDED. THE REMAINS WERE LAID TO REST IN GRACELAND CEMETERY.

MRS. JOHN KAISNER, SR.

MRS. JOHN KAISNER, SR., PASSED AWAY AT HER HOME ON EAST ELM STREET TUESDAY AFTERNOON, FOLLOWING AN ILLNESS THAT EXTENDED OVER A PERIOD OF SEVERAL YEARS. SHE WAS AGED 69 YEARS, 10 MONTHS AND 19 DAYS.

KATHERINE SCHNEIDER WAS BORN IN AUSTRIA-HUNGARY APRIL 22, 1860, AND THERE ON MAY 4, 1879, SHE UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO JOHN KAISNER. THEY CONTINUED TO MAKE THAT COUNTRY THEIR HOME UNTIL 1893, WHEN THEY WITH THEIR FAMILY, THEN FIVE SONS, CAME TO THE UNITED STATES. THEY SETTLED ON A FARM SOUTH OF FAIRBURY, WHERE THEY RESIDED UNTIL FOUR YEARS AGO, WHEN THEY MOVED TO THEIR LATE RESIDENCE IN THIS CITY, HERE JUST A MONTH AND TWO DAYS PERVIOUS TO MR. KAISNER’S DEATH MR. KAISNER PASSED AWAY.

MRS. KAISNER IS SURVIVED BY THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN, ALL OF WHOM RESIDE IN THIS VICINITY: JACOB, JOHN, DAVID, ADAM, JOSEPH, FRANCIS, SAMUEL AND MRS. JOHN TYLER, THERE ALSO SURVIVE 21 GRANDCHILDREN. ONE SON, WILLIAM, PASSED AWAY ON OCTOBER 26TH, 1918, AT THE AGE OF 29 YEARS.

MRS. KAISNER WAS A LOVING MOTHER AND SINCERE FRIEND, WHO WILL BE MISSED AMONG HER ACQUAINTANCES AS WELL AS IN THE HOME.

THE FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD TODAY FROM THE CHRISTIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH. INTERMENT WILL BE IN GRACELAND CEMETERY.

SERVICES WERE HELD WEDNESDAY FOR JACOB KAISNER, 79, WHO DIED AT THE FAIRBURY HOSPITAL AT 12:20 A.M. MONDAY AFTER HE HAD BEEN A PATIENT FOR THREE WEEKS.

SERVICES WERE HELD AT THE COOK FUNERAL HOME AT 1 P.M. AND AT THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH AT 1:30 P. M. BURIAL WAS IN THE SOUTH APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CEMETERY. HE WAS A CARPENTER AND BUILDING CONTRACTOR.

HE WAS BORN OCT. 12, 1880, A SON OF JOHANN AND KATHARINA SCHNEIDER KAISNER. HE CAME TO THE UNITED STATES WHEN HE WAS 12 AND HAS LIVED IN THE FAIRBURY VICINITY SINCE. HE MARRIED MINNIE STREITMATTER OF PRINCEVILLE, MARCH 6, 1906.

SURVIVING ARE THREE SONS, ALBERT, ELMONTE, CALIF.; JOHN, GRAFTON, W. VA.; ELMER, FORREST; TWO DAUGHTERS, MISS KATHRYN KAISNER, FAIRBURY; MRS. ESTHER KAMMERMANN, FORREST, 93 GRANDCHILDREN; FOUR GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.

HIS WIFE AND A DAUGHTER PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH.

HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

J. R. KAISNER, FORMER BUSINESS MAN, DIES

JOHN R. KAISNER, A FORMER BUSINESS MAN OF THIS CITY, PASSED AWAY AT HIS HOME HERE FRIDAY MORNING AT ELEVEN O’CLOCK. MR. KAISNER HAD BEEN IN FALLING HEALTH FOR SOME TIME, BUT HAD BEEN SERIOUSLY ILL ONLY A SHORT TIME. HE WAS AGED 69 YEARS, ONE MONTH AND FOUR DAYS.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD AT THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH ON MONDAY MORNING AT TEN O’CLOCK, AND INTERMENT WAS IN GRACELAND CEMETERY.

MR. KAISNER WAS A SON OF JOHN AND KATHERINE (SCHNEIDER) KAISNER, AND WAS BORN IN YUGOSLAVIA, FEBRUARY 17, 1883. WHEN JUST A BOY HE CAME WITH HIS PARENTS AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE FAMILY TO FAIRBURY AND HAD LIVED IN THIS CITY AND VICINITY SINCE THAT TIME.

ON MARCH 3, 1907, IN FAIRBURY, MR. KAISNER WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO BERTHA PERDELWITZ. SHE SURVIVES TOGETHER WITH, TEN CHILDREN: MRS. WILLIAM AND MRS. ORIN AUPPERLE AND AMOS AND VICTOR KAISNER, ALL OF MORTON; MRS. ARTHUR A. NELSON, JR., AND ERVIN KAISNER, BOTH OF PEORIA; CLYDE KAISNER, PONTIAC; LOUIS KAISNER AND MRS. WILLIAM BARTLETT, JR., BOTH OF FAIRBURY, AND MELVIN KAISNER, AT HOME. THERE ARE FIVE BROTHERS, JACOB, SAM AND JOSEPH KAISNER, ALL OF FORREST, AND DAVID AND FRANCIS, BOTH OF FAIRBURY; ALSO 23 GRANDCHILDREN.

MR. KAISNER FOLLOWED THE OCCUPATION OF FARMING THE GREATER PART OF HIS LIFE. HE RETIRED FROM THE FARM SOME TEN YEARS AGO AND AFTER BEING IN THE EMPLOY OF HONEGGERS FOR A FEW YEARS AND THEN OPENED A FEED STORE AT 203 EAST LOCUST STREET. HE RETIRED FROM BUSINESS ON JUNE 29, 1950, SELLING THE STORE TO ITS PRESENT OWNER, EMIL HERTLEIN.

MR. KAISNER WAS A MEMBER OF THE CHRISTIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH.

ADAM KAISNER

ADAM KAISNER, RESIDENT OF THIS VICINITY FOR ABOUT 45 YEARS, PASSED AWAY MONDAY MORNING AT 3 O’CLOCK AT HIS HOME NEAR RISK, FOLLOWING AN ILLNESS OF ABOUT A WEEK WITH PNEUMONIA.

MR. KAISNER WAS BORN JANUARY 13, 1886, AT NOVA, BANOVIC, JUGOSLAVIA, SON OF JOHN AND KATHRYN (SCHNEIDER) KAISNER, COMING TO AMERICA WITH HIS PARENTS WHEN ABOUT SEVEN YEARS OF AGE. HE HAS BEEN ENGAGED IN FARMING DURING THE PAST 28 YEARS, AND HAD UNTIL RECENTLY BEEN LIVING ON THE JOHN BRUCKER FARM, WEST OF STRAWN. ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO HE MOVED TO THE FARM EAST OF RICK WHICH HE HAD RECENTLY PURCHASED FROM ALFRED DATWEILER.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD WEDNESDAY FORENOON AT 11 O’CLOCK AT THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH, SOUTH. INTERMENT WAS IN THE CHURCH CEMETERY. THE SIX BROTHERS OF THE DECEASED SERVED AS CASKET BEARERS.

HE WAS BORN OCT. 17, 1887, IN NORI-BANOVEL, YUGOSLAVIA, A SON OF JOHN AND KATHERINE SCHNEIDER KAISNER. HE MARRIED ANNA SCHINI JAN. 5, 1911, IN PONTIAC. SHE DIED FEB. 25, 1968.

SURVIVING ARE A SON, BENJAMIN, FAIRBURY; TWO BROTHERS, JOSEPH, FORREST, AND FRANCIS, FAIRBURY; A GRANDDAUGHTER, AND A GREAT GRANDSON.

A DAUGHTER, A SISTER AND FIVE BROTHERS, PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH.

MR. KAISNER WAS A MEMBER OF FAIRBURY APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

WILHELM "WILLIAM" KAISNER 1889 - 1918

WILLIAM KAISNER

WILLIAM KAISNER, WHO HAD BEEN A PATIENT AT THE FAIRBURY HOSPITAL FOR SEVERAL DAYS, DIED AT THAT PLACE LAST SATURDAY EVENING, DEATH BEING DUE TO PNEUMONIA, FOLLOWING AN ATTACK OF INFLUENZA.

THE DECEASED WAS BORN IN AUSTRIA-HUNGARY IN 1889, AND CAME TO THIS COUNTRY WITH HIS PARENTS WHEN HE WAS FOUR YEARS OLD, THE FAMILY LOCATING NEAR FAIRBURY. ABOUT SIX YEARS AGO HE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO MISS ROSA BACHTOLD.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTER, HIS PARENTS, MR. AND MRS. JOHN KAISNER, SR., SEVEN BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER.

THE FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD FROM HE HOME TUESDAY AFTERNOON.

LIFE-LONG RESIDENT DIED LAST EVENING

MRS. JOHN TYLER, A LIFELONG RESIDENT OF FAIRBURY AND VICINITY, PASSED AWAY LAST EVENING AT 5:30 O’CLOCK, AT HER HOME AT 405 WEST CHESTNUT STREET, FOLLOWING AN ILLNESS OF THREE YEARS. SHE WAS AGED 48 YEARS EIGHT MONTHS AND 18 DAYS.

LYDIA, THE ONLY DAUGHTER OF JOHN AND CATHERINA (SCHNEIDER) KAISNER, WAS BORN ON A FARM THREE AND A HALF MILES SOUTH OF FAIRBURY, APRIL 2, 1897. ON APRIL 23, 1924, AT PONTAIC SHE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO JOHN TYLER, AND THEY RESIDED ON A FARM NORTH OF FORREST. THEY MOVED TO THEIR PRESENT HOME A YEAR AGO.

THE FOLLOWING BROTHERS SURVIVE: JACOB, JOSEPH AND SAMUEL KAISNER, OF FORREST; JOHN AND FRANCIS KAISNER, OF FAIRBURY, AND DAVID KAISNER, OF WESTON. HER PARENTS AND TWO BROTHERS, ADAM AND WILLIAM KAISNER, PRECEDED HER IN DEATH.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD FROM THE HOME AT 11:30 O’CLOCK ON SUNDAY MORNING AND FROM THE APOSTOLIC CHIRSTIAN CHURCH THAT AFTERNOON AT ONE O’CLOCK. INTERMENT WILL BE IN GRACELAND CEMETERY.

HE WAS THE FATHER OF MERLE KAISNER OF FAIRBURY.

THE FUNERAL WAS HELD AT 10 A.M. WEDNESDAY AT THE FORREST APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH WITH MINISTERS OF THE CHURCH OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN GRACLAND CEMETERY.

CULKIN-DIGGLE FUNERAL HOME WAS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.

MR. KAISNER WAS BORN MARCH 13, 1899, AT FAIRBURY, A SON OF JOHN AND KATHERINA (SCHNEIDER) KAISNER. HE MARRIED IDA SUTTER FEB. 8, 1922, AT PONTIAC. SHE SURVIVES.

HE WAS A LIFETIME FARMER IN THE FORREST AREA AND RETIRED IN 1972.

MR. KAISNER WAS A MEMBER OF THE FORREST APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH AND WAS A RETIRED MINISTER OF THE CHURCH.

IN ADDITION TO THE SON IN FAIRBURY SURVIVORS INCLUDE HIS WIFE: DAUGHTERS, HELEN FOLLMER OF NEWBURY PARK, CALIF., ALMA JEAN SCHMIDGALL, JANET FARNEY AND LOU IDA STEFFEN, ALL OF FORREST; SONS: HARTZELL OF NORTHVILLE, MICH., LEON OF EAST PEORIA AND LARRY OF FORREST; 33 GRANDCHILDREN AND 16 GREAT-CHILDREN.

HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE SON, SEVEN BROTHERS, ONE SISTER, TWO GRANDCHILDREN AND ONE GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN.

HIS FUNERAL WAS HELD AT 2 P.M. WEDNESDAY AT DUFFY-PILS MEMORIAL HOME, REV. KENNETH TYLER OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN GRACELAND CEMETERY.

HE WAS BORN JAN. 25, 1902, AT CROPSEY, A SON OF JOHN AND KATHERINA SCHNEIDER KAISNER. HE MARRIED MARTHA E. SUTTER SEPT. 2, 1925, AT PONTIAC. SHE SURVIVES.

ALSO SURVIVING ARE THREE DAUGHTERS, EVELYN YODER, FAIRBURY; ETHEL MAE BRYEANS, SCHAUMBURG, AND MARLENE KIGAR, NAPOLEON, OHIO; TWO SONS, GLENN, PEORIA, AND DENNIS, FAIRBURY; A BROTHER, JOSEPH, FORREST; AND SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN.

TWO SONS, SIX BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH.

MR. KAISNER LIVED ON THE SAME FARM 65 YEARS, RETIRED FROM FARMING IN 1967. HE WAS INDIAN GROVE TOWNSHIP WEEK COMMISSIONER 22 YEARS AND WAS A MEMBER OF FAIRBURY FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH.

SAMUEL L. KAISNER, 70, DIED THURSDAY, APRIL 24, 1975, AT 1 P.M., AT THE ILLINI HOME IN SPRINGFIELD, WHERE HE HAD BEEN A RESIDENT FOR TWO YEARS. HE HAD BEEN ILL SEVERAL MONTHS.

HE WAS A CARPENTER AND A FORMER FORREST VILLAGE EMPLOYEE.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD AT 1:30 P.M., APRIL 26, FROM THE CULKIN FUNERAL HOME, FORREST, WITH PERRY ZIMMERMAN OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN FORREST CEMETERY.

HE WAS BORN MARCH 26, 1905, AT FAIRBURY, A SON OF JOHN AND KATHERINA SCHNIEDER KAISNER. HE MARRIED INEZ ALT, SEPT. 7, 1928 AT PONTIAC.

HE IS SURVIVED BY FOUYR DAUGHTERS, MRS. MARY FLORES AND MRS. CAROL CIZEWSKI OF MICHIGAN CITY, IND.; MRS. LAVON BARANOWSKI, PHOENIX, ARIZ., AND MRS. JUDY NITCHELL, ELKHART, IND.; THREE BROTHERS, DAVID AND FRANCIS KAISNER, FAIRBURY; JOSEPH KAISNER, FORREST; AND SEVERAL GRANDCHILDREN.

FOUR BROTHERS AND ONE SISTER PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH.
