FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD YESTERDAY FOR JOE BROQUARD, 84, WHO DIED AT FAIRBURY HOSPITAL AT 9:40 A. M. SUNDAY.

SERVICES WERE HELD AT 10 A. M. AT THE HOME AND AT 10:30 A. M. AT THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH. BURIAL WAS IN GRACELAND CEMETERY.

HE WAS BORN FEB. 13, 1871 AT LACON, A SON OF VICTOR AND MARY PELSEY BROUQUARD. HE MOVED TO THE FORREST VICINITY, WHERE HE MARRIED ANNA ZEHR, ON SEPT. 4, 1898.

TO THIS UNION WERE BORN THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN, JOSHUA J., GEORGE, MRS. PERSEDA MOSER, THE MISSES LYDIA AND LEONA, ALL OF FAIRBURY; JOE, FORREST; BEN, ROBEIN; MRS. ELLA KUERTH, GRIDLEY; MRS. ESTHER HERMAN, DUNLAP; AND MISS KATHRYN, PEORIA.

HIS WIFE ANNA PRECEDED HIM IN DEATH ON DEC. 11, 1934. HE MARRIED EMMA HERZOG ON OCT. 3, 1937. SHE IS LEFT TO MOURN WITH THE CHILDREN, 29 GRANDCHILDREN, 2 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN, A BROTHER, JACOB, OF FAIRBURY AND A SISTER, MISS BENA BROQUARD, PEORIA.

IN 1944, HE RETIRED FROM FARMING IN THE FORREST AREA AND THEY MOVED TO THEIR HOME AT 204 WEST CHESTNUT STREET IN FAIRBURY.

HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

2. ELIZABETH "LIZZIE" (BROQUARD) STEFFEN 1872 - 1950

MRS. LIZZIE STEFFEN, 77, DIES NEAR CROPSEY SAT.

APRIL 6, - MRS. LIZZIE BROQUARD STEFFEN, 77 YEARS, DIED AT 1:55 P. M. SATURDAY, APRIL 1, AT THE HOME OF HER SON-IN-LAW, EMIL BAHLER, NORTH OF CROPSEY.

SHE WAS BORN NOV. 9, 1872 AT LACON, A DAUGHTER OF VICTOR AND MARY PALEY BROQUARD. SHE WAS MARRIED TO ALBERT STEFFEN OF CROPSEY, FEB. 10, 1915. THEY SPENT ALL THEIR MARRIED LIFE IN THE CROPSEY COMMUNITY. SHE IS SURVIVED BY THREE DAUGHTERS, MRS. SAM IFFT, OF FAIRBURY; MRS. EMIL BAHLER, OF CROPSEY AND MRS. JACOB BAHLER, OF WOLCOTT, IND., ONE SISTER, MISS BENA BROQUARD, OF PEORIA; TWO BROTHERS, JOSEPH AND JACOB BROQUARD, OF FAIRBURY; 16 GRANDCHILDREN AND EIGHT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, HUSBAND, THREE SISTERS AND ONE BOTHER.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD AT THE HOME TUESDAY AT 9:00 A. M. AND AT THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH IN FAIRBURY AT 10 A. M. BURIAL WAS IN THE SOUTH APOSTOLIC CEMETERY. SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH OF FAIRBURY.

3. LENA (BROQUARD) ZEHR 1874 - 1930

MRS. SAMUEL ZEHR

LENA, DAUGHTER OF VICTOR AND MARY BROQUARD, WAS BORN IN MARSHALL COUNTY, NEAR LACON, OCTOBER 16, 1874, AND PASSED AWAY AT HER HOME IN THIS CITY, FRIDAY, JULY 25, AT THE AGE OF 55 YEARS, 9 MONTHS AND 9 DAYS.

SHE MOVED WITH HER PARENTS TO THE VICINITY OF FORREST, WHERE ON APRIL 26, 1897, SHE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO SAMUEL ZEHR, WHO WITH THE FOLLOWING CHILDREN, SURVIVES: CLARA, BENJAMIN, LENA, MRS. JOHN TRAUB, SAMUEL, ANNA, IDA, SARAH, FANNIE AND ALDINE, ALL OF WHOM RESIDE IN THIS COMMUNITY. THERE ALSO SURVIVE THE FOLLOWING BROTHERS AND SISTERS: JOSEPH BROQUARD, OF FORREST; JACOB BROQUARD, OF FAIRBURY; SAMUEL BROQUARD, OF PEORIA; MRS. ALBERT STEFFEN, OF CROPSEY; MISS BENA BROQUARD, OF PEORIA.

FOLLOWING THEIR MARRIAGE MR. AND MRS. ZEHR LIVED ON THE FARM, SIX MILES SOUTHEAST OF THIS CITY UNTIL A YEAR AGO LAST MARCH, WHEN THEY MOVED TO FAIRBURY.

A WOMAN OF KIND DISPOSITION AND NEIGHBORLINESS, MRS. ZEHR WILL BE MISSED BY HER MANY FRIENDS AS WELL AS IN THE HOME WHERE SHE WAS EVER A LOVING WIFE AND MOTHER.

THE FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD AT THE SOUTH CHRISTIAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH SUNDAY, WITH INTERMENT IN THAT CEMETERY.

4. SAMUEL BROQUARD 1876 - 1941

SAMUEL BROQUARD DIES IN PEORIA

SAMUEL H. BROQUARD, AGED 65, WHO FOR A PERIOD OF YEARS RESIDED SOUTHEAST OF FAIRBURY IN THE STRAWN VICINITY, PASSED AWAY AT HIS HOME IN PEORIA ON TUESDAY EVENING AT 6:55 O’CLOCK. HE HAD BEEN BEDFAST ABOUT A MONTH WITH A HEART AILMENT.

MR. BROQUARD WAS BORN IN TAZEWELL COUNTY, MAY 10, 1876, A SON OF VICTOR AND MARY (BELSLY) BROQUARD. HE SPENT THE FIRST PART OF HIS LIFE IN THE VICINITY OF HIS BIRTH, LOCATING NEAR STRAWN IN 1914, WHERE HE ENGAGED IN FARMING.

SIXTEEN YEARS AGO HE MOVED TO PEORIA, WHERE ON SEPTEMBER 10, 1933, HE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO ELIZABETH WEYENETH. SHE SURVIVES TOGETHER WITH THE FOLLOWING BROTHERS AND SISTERS: JOE BROQUARD, OF FORREST; JACOB BROQUARD, OF FAIRBURY; MRS. ALBERT STEFFEN, OF CROPSEY, AND MISS BENA BROQUARD, OF PEORIA. THREE SISTERS PRECEDED HIM DEATH.

MR. BROQUARD WAS A MEMBER OF THE GREEN STREET APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH IN PEORIA.

FUNERAL SERVICES ARE BEING HELD IN PEORIA THIS MORNING AT NINE O’CLOCK. INTERMENT WILL BE AT ROANOKE.

5. JACOB BROQUARD 1879 - 1956

JACOB BROQUARD, 76, BURIED SATURDAY

SERVICES WERE HELD SATURDAY MORNING FOR JACOB BROQUARD, 76, WHO DIED AT 11 P. M. WEDNESDAY AT HIS HOME AT 104 EAST CHEST NUT STREET.

THE SERVICES WERE HELD AT 9:30 A. M. AT THE HOME AND AT 10 A. M. AT THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH. BURIAL WAS IN GRACELAND CEMETERY.

MR. BROQUARD WAS BORN AUG. 16, 1879 IN LACON, A SON OF VICTOR AND MARY PELSY BROQUARD. IN 1895, HE MOVED FROM LACON TO A FARM NEAR FORREST, WHERE HE LIVED FOR TWO YEARS, BEFORE MOVING TO A FARM NEAR FAIRBURY.

HE WAS MARRIED TO THE FORMER KATHERINE ZEHR IN FAIRBURY, FEB. 26, 1902. HE WAS A MEMBER OF THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH.

HE IS SURVIVED BY FOUR DAUGHTERS, MISS ALENE AND MISS LORENE BROQUARD, AT HOME, MRS. ELSIE DENNICK, FORREST, AND MISS LOUISE BACH, FAIRBURY; A SISTER, MISS BENA BROQUARD, PEORIA, AND FOUR GRANDCHILDREN.

BEARERS, NEPHEWS OF MR. BROQUARD, WERE JOE BROQUARD, BEN TRAUB, CHRIS STEFFEN, GEORGE ZIMMERMAN, BEN ZEHR AND JOE ZEHR.

6. BENA BROQUARD 1882 - 1973

HOLD SEPT. 26 RITES FOR MISS BROQUARD

MISS BENA L. BROQUARD, 91, DIED AT THE HOME OF HER NIECE, LENA ZEHR, FAIRBURY, AT 2 P. M. WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 19, 1973.

HER FUNERAL WAS HELD AT 10 A. M., FRIDAY AT THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH, WITH BURIAL IN SOUTH APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CEMETERY.

DUFFY-PILS MEMORIAL HOME WAS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.

SHE WAS BORN AT LACON, MARCH 22, 1882, A DAUGHTER OF VICTOR AND MARY BELSLEY BROQUARD. SHE NEVER MARRIED.

SURVIVING ARE 25 NIECES AND NEPHEWS; 66 GREAT NIECES AND NEPHEWS; 148 GREAT-GREAT NIECES AND NEPHEWS AND A GREAT-GREAT-GREAT NIECE.

THREE BROTHERS AND FOUR SISTERS PRECEDED HER IN DEATH.

SHE WAS A MEMBER OF THE APOSTOLIC CHRISTIAN CHURCH FOR 76 YEARS.

SHE LIVED MOST OF HER LIFE NEAR FAIRBURY AND ROANOKE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF 35 YEARS IN PEORIA.

PALLBEARERS WERE HARVEY TRAUB, HARRY YAGGIE, WARREN ZEHR, EARL STEFFEN, HARVEY STEFFEN AND DONALD BROQUARD.
